With this strategic alliance, Terrain Ogilvy will be able to position itself convincingly as a multi-service agency that offers the best in advertising strategic and creative services. This new entity will be a powerful new player in the Quebec and Canadian markets.
“Our services and key target markets are complementary: while Terrain has worked mostly in the Quebec market, specializing in packaged goods and the retail sector, Ogilvy Montréal has prospered by focusing on government and corporate accounts. Make no mistake: having access to Ogilvy & Mather’s worldwide network and its proprietary tools will help us become a player that’s sizeable, versatile and highly successful,” explains David Aubert, co-founder of Terrain, who becomes President & CEO of the new agency.
“This blending of interests will benefit all of our clients and pave the way for accelerated growth. Terrain has the capacity to integrate event marketing and social media into a campaign, which is extremely important. Our values mesh and we are delighted to inject some youth into the agency by placing David at the helm,” says Daniel Demers, who will step aside as President of Ogilvy Montréal and become Chairman.
The expansion of the current headquarters of Ogilvy Montréal will permit the agency to have all of its employees under one roof by the end of January. In this same spirit, the agency will kick off a period of talent recruitment starting on January 11, and will be announcing some major wins in the next few weeks.
Terrain Ogilvy will launch its new website on January 18, which will showcase its guiding principles: observe, listen, share, reinvent and perform.
