Cineplex Digital Networks named Content Creator of the Year

Winner of three awards at the 2015 International Digital Signage Awards

Cineplex Digital Networks (“CDN”), continues to garner recognition for its strategic thinking and technology, as it was presented with the Overall Content Creator of the Year award at the 2015 International Digital Signage Awards (“IDSA”), for its second consecutive year.

CDN received two additional category awards during the April 22 announcement, for Exhibition & Conventions and Restaurant, Catering & Hospitality.

Tim Hortons’ Interactive Wall, designed by CDN, garnered the top prize in the Exhibitions & Conventions category. Created for the Tim Hortons 2014 Convention, the installation set the standard for CDN’s seamless synergy of creative and technology. The prototype was developed to showcase future innovation for guest engagement and entertainment within the restaurant. Showcasing localized information, interactive maps and infographics, videos, and multi-language support, the Interactive Wall was one of the highlights of Tim Hortons’ Restaurant of the Future – a fully functional future concept store that was built within the Toronto Convention Centre.

Environics Communications expands government relations team

Environics Communications continues to thrive in the nation’s capital, recently adding two Senior Consultants to the Ottawa office.

“Less than four years ago, we opened our Ottawa office with a single person,” said Bruce MacLellan, Chairman and CEO of Environics Communications, and a former Chief of Staff in the government of the Right Honourable Brian Mulroney. “Today we have five government relations experts with experience in the three national parties located in two offices. Barb Wright comes to Environics from the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) where she led various initiatives to increase the visibility of the organization, while also helping them better communicate with members, stakeholders and governments. Prior to joining the CAN, Barb worked for a number of years on Parliament Hill as a senior advisor to MPs from Southern Ontario and Newfoundland and Labrador.

Louis-Charles Roy spent five years with Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) where he worked as a communications analyst and spokesperson. He was also the special assistant and Quebec advisor in Ottawa for the former Liberal and Leader of the Opposition, Michael Ignatieff, as well as an advisor to the government Deputy Whip in Quebec City. Louis-Charles will add a strong bilingual capacity to the government Relations team.

Mercer Canada Welcomes Marketing Leader

Heather Nairn has joined Mercer’s Toronto office as Chief Marketing Officer for Canada.

Heather joins Mercer with more than 25 years marketing experience. She recently served as Vice President, Global Product Management and Product Marketing at Pitney Bowes Inc., and previously held several senior Marketing positions at both ADP Canada and American Express.

“Heather has proven experience executing B2B marketing strategies, identifying business opportunities and responding to market demand,” says Mercer Canada President Ted Singeris. “Her appointment will serve to enrich our client experience through the development of more data driven marketing campaigns and a creative approach to supporting our product offerings. Xerox Helps Enterprises Conquer Paper Predicaments By Automating Work Processes

Xerox solves the paper puzzle with new services and tools that improve the way retailers, financial institutions, healthcare systems and other large enterprises deal with documents.

The offerings are the latest example of Xerox building greater automation and intelligence into its solutions and products, with the goal of helping clients better manage their critical business processes.

“Organizations can have a love-hate relationship with paper. It remains critical to everything from invoicing to collaboration, but it can also cripple productivity. That’s why workflow automation is a business priority,” said Mike Feldman, president, Large Enterprise Operations, Xerox. “Eliminating the inherent issues of manual, paper-based work streams can improve operations and accelerate benefits derived from managed print services.”

Smarter supply chain

Xerox’s Workflow Automation Solution for Supply Chain Optimization, a service-based retail offering, uses the Datawatch Managed Analytics Platform to digitize, centralize, automate and govern error-prone and costly manual steps of a product lifecycle. The solution reduces labor and print costs, simplifies inventory and invoice reconciliation and improves fill rates by syncing data and applying automated analytics at the store level.

Automation across industries 

To further strengthen its vertical industry offerings, Xerox introduces several workflow automation solutions built on its partnership with Hyland, creator of OnBase, to automate processes critical to business functions, such as:

 

  • Loan Application Processing – captures loan application inputs from sources such as multifunction printers, mobile devices and web applications, and automatically routes them to loan officers through a tailored workflow. External data sources – such as credit reporting services and vehicle registration databases – are seamlessly integrated into the process and stored in a secure content management system.
  • Health Records Information Management – helps hospitals improve productivity and enable better visibility into patient care by providing a single, comprehensive view of all clinical documents and data stored in an Electronic Health Record, Picture Archiving and Communication System and clinical content repository.
  • Human Resources Onboarding – increases the speed and efficiency of the onboarding process by removing paper, automating steps and providing management oversight. New hires are granted access to an employee portal to complete e-form “paperwork” and other required documentation online. Supporting organizations, such as facilities, IT and payroll, are engaged to ensure timely provisioning. Data is placed under records management control for future reference, retrieval or destruction.

Expansion to the cloud

Xerox Digital Alternatives, which lets users sign, annotate, share, save and read documents from one interface, is now available in a Xerox private cloud. New powerful analytics also accelerate an organization’s paper to digital migration. In addition, Xerox’s DocuShare® Private Cloud Service allows for easy deployment of an enterprise content management and collaboration platform to capture, manage and share content securely in the cloud from a mobile device or PC.

The Xerox Secure Print Manager Suite with User Analytics powered by CompleteView® from NewField IT provides an analysis of who is printing what, when, how much and where. With this insight, Xerox counsels businesses on how to optimize their print environments.

New apps designed for the mobile workforce make secure, no-hassle printing easier for large enterprises with the Xerox Print Service Plug-in for Android users, the Mobile Access App and Mobile Link App.

Environics Communications deepens digital talent pool; adds four new team members to Agnostic

Environics Communications continues to expand its thriving digital marketing brand, Agnostic, hiring a new wave of senior talent. Matthew Ames joins the firm as Director of Digital Media, Kim Le as Digital Account Director, and André Csapo as Senior Digital Strategist. Erik Sherman rounds out the group as Engagement Strategist.

This latest move comes on the heels of announcing recent additions to the agency’s creative roster and bringing its digital-leaning President, Paul Lockhard, on board last fall.

An expert in lead-generation and performance-driven digital media, Matthew will help drive clients’ influence marketing initiatives by integrating strategic paid media buys to improve performance. Seasoned in content creation and digital strategy, Matthew is the former Director of Acquisition for Clear Fit, a SaaS-based recruitment profiling service. Most recently, she was Director of Client Services at Brought to You By, a creative studio focused on branding, content development, and video production.

André brings over a decade of North American experience creating customer-centric research programs that use design thinking, ethnography, and systems modeling to better connect customers to their clients. Before joining the team, André worked as a strategist and qualitative researcher for the Pitney Bowes’ innovation group.  Prior to this he served as a director with Innovation Focus, a US-based consulting firm where he helped build organizational insight capabilities for global brands such as Dell Computers, Bank of Canada, GlaxoSmithKline, Merck and others.

Erik comes to the team with solid experience in community management and social influencer engagement. Erik most recently worked at Canada’s largest direct bank, Tangerine (formerly ING Direct), as both a Social Media and Online Community Specialist managing online platforms and brand ambassador strategies for over two years.  Prior to Tangerine, Erik worked at Mosaic Experiential Marketing activating programs and managing online communities for several Fortune 500 companies.
