The Canadian Marketing Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Doug Brooks as its new President and CEO.  Brooks replaces John Gustavson who is resigning his position with CMA after more than 25 years leading Canada’s largest marketing association.

“We are very pleased to have Doug join the association as CMA ushers in an exciting new period of development and expansion for the Association,” said Stephen Brown, Chair of the CMA Board of Directors and President of FUSE Marketing Group. “Under his leadership, and with the continued support of the membership, CMA is well positioned for the future.”

 

Brooks brings many years of marketing and association experience to the association, having most recently served as CEO of the Certified General Accountants of Ontario (CGA Ontario) and previously in senior marketing positions with Coca-Cola, CBC and the NHL.

“Doug’s proven track record leading a major business association and delivering member value will serve us well,” noted Bryan Pearson, Vice-Chair of the CMA Board and President of  Loyalty One/Air Miles.

“This is an exciting opportunity to lead a very healthy and vibrant association that serves a dynamic industry always on the cusp of change,” said Brooks. “I look forward to leading CMA into a new era as it explores new ways to serve its members and becomes the indispensable resource and advocate for all of Canada’s marketing community.”

Doug Brooks will officially join the association on July 6, 2015.
